Dudley Frugé

The South Louisiana soil is rich, yielding many beautiful crops -including talented musical families. Drummer Dudley Frugé has ascended as the cream of the crop in his musical family. No one could have predicted that a country boy, the youngest of seven kids from the rural town of Iowa, Louisiana, would become one of the most world-traveled and respected drummers from the Louisiana prairie. His love for the drums was literally beaten into his head. As a young boy, he soundly slept with his head resting on the pillow that muffled the inside of his brother's kick drum!

This funky drummer's portfolio is deep and impressive. Dudley soared to "world-class" status as the drummer for legendary Cajun rocker and acclaimed songwriter, Zachary Richard, with whom he toured for the better part of thirteen years. It was on tour with Zachary that Dudley honed his skills, playing every major city in the U.S. and Canada, as well as major markets in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy. In between stints with Zachary, Dudley teamed up with slide guitar genius Sonny Landreth.

Dudley has been part of two summer tours with Jimmy Buffett, and has also graced the stages of "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson and Jay Leno. When you see Dudley perform with Roddie Romero & the Hub City All-Stars, you see an artist driven by a love of the groove, a love of music, and the gratification of creating music - not only with professional colleagues - but with his friends.
